Masterclass in Designing Secure Environments

Security Mitigations and Countermeasures are often introduced too late into facility design.

Most often, by the time security is considered, designs are fixed, budgets are committed and options are limited, leading to higher costs, constrained solutions and vulnerabilities that remain for the life of the asset.

This three-day, practitioner-led masterclass is designed to address that challenge. It equips professionals with the frameworks, language and confidence to engage at the point where security has the greatest influence at the beginning of the design process.

The programme focuses on how security is applied in practice. Participants learn how to assess environments from an attacker’s perspective, understand how evolving threats such as AI, drones and other emerging technologies influence design decisions and contribute effectively to early-stage discussions where key decisions are made, rather than added later as a corrective measure.

It brings together recognised international standards and industry practices into a single, structured approach that can be applied across sectors and jurisdictions. In doing so, it supports consistent decision-making while remaining adaptable to different operational and regulatory contexts.
